Sportswear is also known as active wear. This is the clothing that is used for sports and other physical activities or exercises. This also includes the special type of footwear used sports and games. Such specially made clothes are used during sports activities and physical exercises because of practical, safety and comfort reasons. The main types of sportswear used generally for all games and sports are the garments like the shorts, tracksuits, T-shirts, tennis shirts and also polo shirts. Along with this there are also some special types of garments that are used for only some specific activities. These include the wet suits used for swimming, diving and surfing, salopettes that are used for skiing and also leotards which are used during the gymnastics. There are also different types of undergarments used during sports activities like the jockstrap and sports bra. Sometimes the sports clothing are also used as casual fashion clothes.
During sports activities most of the athletes use a combination of different clothing like the pants, shirts, sports shoes etc. In some of the Sports Items the team players are also required to wear some of the protective gears like the helmets, American football body armors etc. Generally sportswears produced and designed by different brands are made available in the market. The most common factor that is found in almost all the sportswear is that they are typically designed to be light weight so that the dress item will not cause any sort of discomfort for the wearer. This can be best illustrated with an example. The garments used for cycling must not be bulky as this may cause too much of drag during cycling. The fashion brands like Cipo and Baxx which produces sportswear give more attention to such factors. If not the produced clothes cannot be used as perfect sportswear.
The footwear that is generally used during sports is called as trainers among which the cruyff trainers have gained greater popularity. Besides from being non-bulky the sportswear must also be loose enough to allow all sorts of the movements that are needed for the sports activities. There should not be any restrictions for the movements which can adversely affect the Sports Performance. There are also some specific style requirements that are needed by some of the game activities like Karate and Keikogi. Normal type of sports dresses like pants and jerseys cannot be used in such types of sports and games. Sports items like American football, ice hockey and fencing requires some sorts of protective gear. Sports wears are produced and designed by almost all the fashion brands like the Two Stoned . There are also different types of standardized sportswear that shall be used as uniforms for different occasions. Games in which there are opponent teams, the team members are generally identified by the color of the dress code which comes same. For form fitting sportswear that are used in the sports items such as wrestling, track & field, dance, gymnastics, swimming etc. Spandex is the general material used.
